When I Became A Mom.

The day I met my son was the best day of my life.

Everyone has a different experience with pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. It is the most transformative experience a woman can go through. My journey had it’s ups and downs and my labor experience was one of the hardest things I have gone through to date, but I wouldn’t change a thing because it brought me our son.

It’s going to take time to process the whole experience but the feeling of becoming a mom is something that is so indescribable until you go through it. It is single handedly the most wonderful and terrifying feeling in the world. Your motherly instincts kick in almost instantly and it gave me more purpose in life in these short two weeks we have spent together.

My son was born two weeks early and I am so thankful we have gotten to snuggle him earlier than expected. He is already growing so fast and I’m enjoying the newborn bubble more than I thought I would have. My husband Jake has been the true superhero this whole time and to say you fall in love with your partner even more than what you did before becoming a parent is in fact very true. I wouldn’t have gotten through this whole process without him. My son is so lucky to have a father who just immersed himself fully into parenthood as soon as he was delivered when I couldn’t. He is our home and our safe place.

Motherhood has just started for me but it has given me the strength and confidence already I truly have been searching for my whole life. He chose us as his parents and it’s an honor I will never take for granted.
